My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others, and that's nice, too, but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.

Something Different

Tonight I thought I'd offer you something different from the last snippet.  This one is the beginning of the suspense I've been working on over the past couple years.  It's written from start to finish, but I never edited it all the way through.  Its temporary working name is Nano (short for Nanotechnology) and it's the book I've chosen to work on in this time between new projects.

I hope you enjoy it.


2/27/11: Sorry.  I took it down because it needed a total rewrite - a fact I didn't realize until after I posted it here.  When I get it fixed, I'll put it back up.
